While I was painting "Antique Playthings" I felt like a needed a break from it for a few days. I went to the grocery store and was amazed at all of the different kinds of eggplants. Up until then I really thought there was only one kind...big and purple. I though all of the colors just went perfectly together. I tried to make it feel like even though there were all these different types of eggplants from different countries, in this painting, they all get along.
